Materials Management Function Head / Demand Forecasting Specialist (Unconventional Gas)
Randstad Middle East is currently recruiting experienced supply chain professionals to lead category management efforts that will shape the future economics of unconventional resources development in the company.
The successful candidate will be asked to take on a leadership role in our dedicated Unconventional Resources Supply Chain organization, with responsibility for the Materials Management function. In this capacity, the candidate shall lead a team of supply chain specialists to establish a flexible and efficient materials management capability for the UR supply chain, including the development of inventory policies; the management of warehousing and logistics service providers; and ongoing coordination of materials management activities to ensure robust service delivery and the fulfillment of internal UR end user requirements (e.g., exploration, drilling, production, surface operations, projects and support functions). In addition to management of a team within the UR Supply Chain Category Management function, the incumbent shall coordinate extensively with colleagues across functions within the UR supply chain, within the overall UR organization (including internal UR end-users and technical proponents), with counterparts in the conventional organization, and with third-party service providers.
This is a permanent position, full-time which requires relocation in Saudi Arabia.This is working for a global leader in the energy industry.
A bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, supply chain, mathematics, statistics or a closely related field.
An advanced degree (e.g., an MBA) is preferred.
A minimum of 7 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, leading materials management or supply chain organizations, and experience managing relationships with outsourced service providers; or experience in demand management or a related supply chain field, with preference for experience in unconventional resources.

The Materials Management function head will be required to perform the following duties:
Management and Leadership: Manage the Center of Excellence function in all general aspects related to leadership, administration, staff, budget and performance
Strategic and Operational Planning: Interpret the overall UR strategic objectives and develop suitable strategies and business plans for the Center of Excellence, including the prioritization of improvement initiatives and the allocation of specialist resources to support other UR SC functions. In addition, support the head of UR SC to develop the overall strategic objectives and business plan for the whole UR SC.
People Development: Lead the development of employee talent by designing competency maps, preparing employee development plans and recruiting candidates
Materials Management: Lead a team of specialist materials management resources to establish a flexible and efficient materials management capability for the UR supply chain, including the development of inventory policies, the management of warehousing and logistics service providers, and ongoing coordination of materials management activities to ensure robust service delivery and the fulfillment of internal UR end user requirements (e.g., exploration, drilling, production, surface operations, projects and support functions)
Interface Management: Manage interfaces with other functions within the UR supply chain (including Procurement and Materials Management), as well as internal customers within the UR program (e.g., exploration, drilling, production, surface operations, projects and support functions), other organizations within the company (including conventional materials management organizations) and third-party materials management service providers.
The Demand Forecasting Specialist will be required to perform the following duties:
Demand forecast preparation: Consolidate and analyze data (both historical and future plan-based) to develop demand forecasts in the near-, mid-, and long-terms to support effective planning of supply chain activities.
Forecast accuracy monitoring: Guide the development of performance reporting to establish measures of forecast accuracy.
Forecast continuous improvement: Lead the development and continuous improvement of the demand forecast methodology, including the development of tools and procedures to be used by participants in the demand forecasting process.
Standardization opportunity identification: As part of the analysis used to develop the demand forecasts, identify opportunities to drive increased commonality/standardization in business requirements.
Cross-functional coordination: Coordinate the development of necessary forecasting inputs across the functions of the UR supply chain and UR end-users (e.g., exploration, drilling, production, surface operations, projects and support functions).
